The Franklin Cougars waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 69-57 victory over Eastwood. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Franklin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jazhiel Herrera, who scored 14 points. Noah Hall was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Eastwood still got an impressive performance from Devin Falk-Ramirez, who scored 17 points. Falk-Ramirez has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Bennett, who scored ten points along with three blocks.
Franklin pushed their record up to 21-6 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points per game. As for Eastwood, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-10.
Franklin will head out on the road to square off against El Dorado at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin is facing El Dorado at the right time seeing as El Dorado is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Eastwood, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Eastlake at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Eastwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
