The Marlin Bulldogs came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 80-53 win over Hubbard. Marlin has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Marlin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Womack out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mario Hopwood, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Marlin's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Hubbard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marlin will take on Wortham at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wortham has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12. As for Hubbard, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Axtell at 7:30 p.m.
