The North Eugene Highlanders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Eagle Point at home to the tune of 81-43. Considering North Eugene has won five contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
North Eugene's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was India Mohiuddin, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six steals. Those seven assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jonas Spencer, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
North Eugene's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21.91 points. As for Eagle Point, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Eugene will face off against Springfield at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings (they are ranked 187th, while North Eugene is ranked sixth). Eagle Point's road trip will continue as they head out to face Churchill at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th.
