Even though Boerum Hill have not done well against the Brooklyn Tech Engineers recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Boerum Hill snuck past Brooklyn Tech with a 57-52 win. The victory was nothing new for Boerum Hill as they're now sitting on three straight.
Despite the loss, Brooklyn Tech still got an impressive performance from Troy Hornbeck, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. The contest was Hornbeck's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chadwyck Beckford, who scored six points.
Boerum Hill's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. As for Brooklyn Tech, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boerum Hill will challenge Wingate at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brooklyn Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Westinghouse at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Westinghouse's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
