Jamerrius Anthony Turns in Season-Best Effort
Sadly, Jamerrius Anthony posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Cortez over Camp Verde on Friday. Anthony rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 99 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Cortez's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.
This year, Anthony has thrown those 1 touchdown (and no picks) while averaging 19 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 17.43 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 64.71 rushing yards.
