The Effingham County Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Brunswick, falling 78-36. Effingham County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.
Despite the loss, Effingham County still got an impressive performance from Kyjana Jordan, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That was a full 47.2% of Effingham County's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Baylee Hodges was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Effingham County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Brunswick, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Effingham County will head out on the road to challenge South Effingham at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Elena Hairston and Jordan. As for Brunswick, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lakeside at 6:00 p.m.
