Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brielle Amarel, who had 15 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Amarel has posted since back in September.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in eight consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Peoria hadn't done well against Westview recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Panthers won by a set and slipped past the Knights 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since September 10th.
Peoria had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 22-25, 25-14, 25-20, 16-14.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Peoria, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy came up short against Peoria in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, falling 2-0. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
