In what's become a running theme this season, the Memorial Red Devils gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Liberty 69-36 at home. Given Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while Liberty is ranked 745th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Memorial had a senior duo take command as David Moore almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds and Aziyah Flores scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Teyon Harris, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and six blocks.
Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Liberty, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memorial will take on John F. Kennedy Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for Liberty, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on February 22nd.
