The Lincoln Lancers took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They managed a 46-42 win over DSST: College View. That's another feather in the cap for Lincoln, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Adeshina Alassani was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mahamud Jumale, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, DSST: College View still got an impressive performance from Isaias Tomita, who scored 19 points along with 5 steals. Tomita scored a full 45.2% of DSST: College View's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Craig Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 3 steals.
DSST: College View struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Lincoln racked up 13.
Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for DSST: College View, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Lincoln will be playing in front of their home fans against Sheridan at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for DSST: College View, they will head out on the road to face off against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
