The Brook Hill Guard fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Covenant Knights on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to the Knights. Brook Hill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Covenant apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played two weeks ago.
Covenant found their leader in underclassman Luke Thomason, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomason has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Shahan, who scored nine points.
Brook Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Covenant, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 20-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brook Hill will take on Vanguard College Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brook Hill has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Covenant, they will be playing at home against Prince of Peace at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
