1A Conference 42 recap October 29, 2013
West Point extended the longest winning streak in 1A Conference 42 this week by beating Mathews, 49-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Pointers.
Charles City and King & Queen Central played the closest game in the league this week, with Charles City eventually emerging with a 28-22 victory.
West Point's Robert "Mikey" Anerton and Chase Stewart have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Anerton has thrown for 1,379 yards this season, while Stewart has 21 catches for 485 yards. Marques Holmes from Middlesex leads the league in rushing with 1,050 yards.
At the moment, the Blue Devils are in third, while the Panthers are in fourth.
The Chargers fell to King William 51-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brett Carter was a bright spot for Middlesex, as he caught 1 pass for 55 yards in the loss.
