Softball Recap: North Fort Myers Has No Trouble Against Naples

While North Fort Myers put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Naples. The Red Knights put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 14-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Red Knights, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaliyah Williams and Jordyn Prado made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Williams pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Prado struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. At bat, Williams went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Prado went 1-for-3 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, North Fort Myers got a massive performance out of Mia Lane, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Lane has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audrie Florenzano, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one RBI.

North Fort Myers hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

North Fort Myers' record is now 12-5. As for Naples, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

North Fort Myers wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-5 loss against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) on the 11th. As for Naples, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-3 victory against Cypress Lake on the 12th.
