After flying high against the Lanphier Lions last Tuesday, the Rochester Rockets came back down to earth. Rochester took a hard 38-24 fall against Pleasant Plains on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 58 points in the game before, Rochester couldn't push the score so high this time.
Rochester lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Delaney Farris, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Becca Ryan, who scored seven points.
Rochester has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for Pleasant Plains, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rochester will take on Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rochester in Illinois (Springfield is ranked 118th, while Rochester is ranked 289th). As for Pleasant Plains, they will be playing at home against Tolono Unity at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Tolono Unity is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
