The Oley Valley Lynx will head out to face off against the Middletown Blue Raiders at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Oley Valley has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Oley Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Brandywine Heights Area on Friday. They came up short against the Bullets, falling 11-1.
Oley Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Ott, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Middletown had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Susquehanna Township a 21-0 shutout on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Raiders, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Kenadee Hileman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hileman was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Ja'Liyah Stover was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Meghan O'Brien was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Middletown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Oley Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Middletown, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Oley Valley might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Middletown in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Lynx avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
