The Campbell County Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Campbell County barely beat Apostolic Christian Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Flames on Tuesday. Considering the Cougars' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Rylan Rice made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Rice was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Campbell County got a massive performance out of Cooper McQuitty, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. That's the most hits McQuitty has posted since back in March. Eli Lawson was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Campbell County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .703. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Apostolic Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .412.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eagleton College & Career Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Pigeon Forge on Wednesday.
Jayce Simon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. Eagleton College & Career Academy is 5-1 when Simon allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-10-1 otherwise.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Charlie Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Nathan Clemmer, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Eagleton College & Career Academy's record is now 13-11-1. As for Campbell County, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-18.
