The Sneads Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty County. Sneads has struggled against Liberty County recently, as their game on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Sneads saw an underclassman step up: Carrington Scott scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Bellamy, who scored 7 points.
Liberty County was led to victory by Caleigh Peddie and Gabriella Flowers. Peddie scored 18 points, while Flowers scored 19 points. The contest was Flowers' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Haven Davis was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Sneads' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Liberty County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sneads will challenge Cottondale at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty County, they will head out on the road to face off against Blountstown at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Blountstown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Liberty County in Florida (Blountstown is ranked 84th, while Liberty County is ranked 210th).
