The Carolina International Comets posted their biggest win since November 22, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Queen's Grant at home to the tune of 79-50. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-22.
Leading Carolina International to victory were Kendall Salter and Landon Griffin. Salter dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Griffin scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals. That's the first time this season that Salter scored 15 or more points. Roy Quick was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, Queen's Grant still got an impressive performance from Garrett Morgan, who scored 23 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Morgan is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenston Richardson, who scored 13 points.
Carolina International now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Queen's Grant, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-9.
Carolina International won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Charlotte Lab School at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Charlotte Lab School is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Queen's Grant, they will head out on the road to take on Valor Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Valor Preparatory Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
