It was a good run, but the Pittsfield Generals unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a hard 69-50 fall against Chicopee Comp. Pittsfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Pittsfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Harolyn Castillo, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Castillo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Goodnow, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Pittsfield's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Chicopee Comp, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Pittsfield has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. East Longmeadow will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Generals are ranked 27th). As for Chicopee Comp, they will head out on the road to face off against the at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
