EmmaLynn Hussey and Hailey Ufer were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hussey struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Ufer tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Hussey scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-5, while Ufer scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Gabriella Rodriguez was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Alyssa Marshall was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Doral Academy Red Rock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.
Doral Academy Red Rock's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Eldorado, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eldorado has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .478. However, it's not like Doral Academy Red Rock struggles in that department as they've averaged .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
