Lakeview is 4-0 against Northwood since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Lakeview Gators will look to defend their home court against the Northwood Gators at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Northwood will be up against a hot Lakeview team: the squad just extended their winning streak to nine. Lakeview blew past Logansport, posting a 69-33 win. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Tigers are ranked 242nd), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat LaSalle 58-12. The contest marked the Gators' most dominant victory of the season.

Northwood's win came from a few key players Lakeview will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jahari Mccoy, who posted 17 points in addition to six assists and three steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadorian Brown, who had nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Northwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Northwood pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.3 points per game. As for Lakeview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season.

Lakeview didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Northwood in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, but they still walked away with a 77-72 victory.
