In what's become a running theme this season, the Gatewood Gators gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Westminster Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 85-48. The win was nothing new for Gatewood as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Matt Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Allen is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Callaway, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Gatewood is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
Gatewood will be playing at home against Brentwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gatewood is on a 15-game streak of home wins, Brentwood a eight-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Piedmont Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (Piedmont Academy is ranked 550th, while Westminster Christian Academy is ranked 537th).
