Natalie Myrick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nichelle Floyd, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Lucy Grantham was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Anderson made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cedar Creek on Tuesday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 15-5 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Like McCallum, Anderson also got a great game from a two-way player: Willa Glover. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Glover was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Lauren Montalvo was incredible, firing off two home runs and eight RBI while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Brianna Meza, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Anderson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
McCallum's record now sits at 11-8. As for Anderson, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. McCallum has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Anderson struggles in that department as they've averaged .556. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McCallum was able to grind out a solid win over Anderson in their previous meeting back in March, winning 11-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
