Having just played yesterday, the Grant County Braves will jump right back in to play the George Washington Patriots at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Grant County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully George Washington likes a good challenge.
Even though Ashley Ridge scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, Grant County still came out on top. Grant County slipped by Ashley Ridge 58-57.
George Washington has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season. They blew past Hilton Head Christian Academy 57-36. Given George Washington's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked ninth in West Virginia, while Hilton Head Christian Academy is ranked 70th in South Carolina), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grant County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for George Washington, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
