The Brighton Bengals will head out on the road to face off against the Christian Academy of Louisiana Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Brighton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Last Friday, Brighton didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Mount Olive Christian, but they still walked away with a 55-50 victory. The victory was just what Brighton needed coming off of a 75-30 loss in their prior game.
Brighton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Damon Scott out in front who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds. Judge Robertson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Christian Academy of Louisiana, as they earned their first road win of the season. They snuck past Open Door Christian Academy with a 49-44 win on Tuesday. The victory was just what Christian Academy of Louisiana needed coming off of a 70-14 loss in their prior game.
The win got Brighton back to even at 5-5. As for Christian Academy of Louisiana, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Brighton beat Christian Academy of Louisiana 43-34 in their previous meeting back in November. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brighton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
