Mansfield Senior (Mansfield, Ohio) took the lead for the win when
Jalen Reese threw a touchdown to
Chekiah Washington in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over
Madison Comprehensive (Mansfield, Ohio) 45-16.
The Tygers led 13-11 at halftime, but the Rams recaptured the lead on a rushing touchdown with 11:00 remaining in the third.
Mansfield Senior grew its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. MS scored three times in the third, including once on a Reese touchdown pass to Washington.
The Tygers secured its victory by scoring 10 points in the fourth quarter to push the final margin to 29.
Mansfield Senior's most effective player was
Hutch Blackstone. He kicked one field goal and six extra points.
MS had given up an average of 13.8 points prior to the contest.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which Madison Comprehensive took, 34-0.
