After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Torrey Pines, the El Camino Wildcats were happy to have found some success on Friday. They blew past San Dieguito Academy 80-58. Given El Camino's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while San Dieguito Academy is ranked 754th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading El Camino to victory were Shawn Sidiqi and Isaiah Pomare. Sidiqi scored 14 points, while Pomare scored 18 points. Sidiqi continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Ardent, who scored 11 points.
El Camino's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for San Dieguito Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Camino will face off against Sage Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sage Creek is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. San Dieguito Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Torrey Pines at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th.
