Baseball Recap: Ballard Wins High-Profile Game Against Lincoln

Ballard faced Lincoln in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Beavers walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Lynx. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Beavers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Truitt Madonna was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Madonna was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Madonna wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brady Miailovich, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Ballard has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, with the loss, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ballard will square off against Lakeside at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Beavers 2.6, the Lions 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Lincoln, they will welcome West Seattle at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. West Seattle will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Lincoln surely won't give up without a fight.
