The Alpine Bucks waltzed into their contest Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Kermit by a score of 52-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Alpine also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Alpine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Karolina Castillo, who scored 16 points. Novah Carrasco was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Kermit lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aleixa Lara, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Lara also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Figueroa Elysha, who scored six points.
Alpine's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-14. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Kermit, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.
Coincidentally, Alpine and Kermit will both be playing Presidio the next time they take the court. Kermit will host Presidio at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Alpine will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
