Dickson County (Dickson, Tenn.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
McGavock (Nashville, Tenn.), 42-14, on Saturday.
The Cougars were up 21-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Kasey Fuqua in the second quarter.
Dickson County expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. DC scored two times in the third, including once on a
Joseph Lambardo touchdown run.
Dustin McAbee played well for the Raiders. He ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to two on the year.
Luke Humphreys stood out for the Dickson school in the win. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
The Cougars came into the game allowing 14.1 points per game. McGavock's 14 points were well below its season average of 23.0 per game.
The victory was a step in the right direction for Dickson County, which was coming off a 21-7 defeat at the hands of Henry County in its previous game. The loss comes after McGavock defeated Hillwood 22-14 last week.
