On Friday Edgemont take on New Underwood at 7:00 PM. Both teams have set a high bar for this game after stand-out offensive performances in their previous contests.
Edgemont have had to suffer through a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took the matchup and then some with a 61-2 win last Friday over Crazy Horse. Edgemont were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their match two weeks ago against Jones County/White River, New Underwood were happy to find some success. New Underwood were the clear victor by a 48-26 margin over Lyman.
Their wins bumped New Underwood to 4-3 and Edgemont to 1-5. In their victory, Edgemont relied heavily on sophomore Caleb Simons, who threw 4 TDs and picked up 43 yards on the ground. New Underwood will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
