Volleyball Recap: Unity's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Unity unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spring Valley Cardinals. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Andrea Erickson paced Unity's offense, picking up eight kills. Erickson got some help from Madison Wilhelm and her eight assists.

Spring Valley found their leader in freshman Kemri Schlegel, who had 12 digs.

Unity's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Spring Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Unity has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Glenwood City on the 4th. As for Spring Valley, they will challenge Clear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
