The Fort Scott Tigers put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 63-45 win over Iola. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Fort Scott has managed all season.
Despite the defeat, Iola had strong showings from Landon Weide, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Cortland Carson, who scored 13 points. Weide also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Lucas Maier was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Fort Scott pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Iola, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Fort Scott will head out on the road to face off against Labette County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Labette County comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Iola, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Osawatomie at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Osawatomie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 two weeks ago.
