Delbarton extended the longest winning streak in Northwest Jersey - National this week by beating Monsignor Donovan, 49-22. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
West Morris Mendham scaled the state rankings by moving to 124 from 155 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Minutemen climbed the ranks as a result of beating Colonia 47-26.
Guiseppe Bevacqua threw for 185 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Bevacqua put up the best numbers through the air as Delbarton bested the Griffins. Bevacqua's favorite target this week was Matt Oplinger, who caught 4 passes for 136 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Brandon Katzenberger of Parsippany Hills is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,929. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Oplinger. The Delbarton star has 33 catches for 682 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against West Essex, Katzenberger is short just 71 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when West Morris Central takes on West Morris Mendham. At the moment, the Wolfpack are in third, while Bill Carpluk's team is in fourth.
Roxbury and Teaneck played the most contested game in Northwest Jersey - National this week, with Roxbury eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory.
