The Athens Drive Jaguars had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Enloe with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 57-39. With that win, Athens Drive brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Athens Drive got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Derek Crumpton out in front who scored 19 points along with three steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Crumpton posted two or more blocks. Ryan Poggioli was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Enloe had strong showings from Gift Moses, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Zarion Hobbs, who scored 15 points.
Athens Drive's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Enloe, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
Athens Drive on the road again on Tuesday and play against Leesville Road at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Leesville Road is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Enloe, they will play host again and welcome Sanderson, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sanderson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.9 points per game.
