The Southern Lab Kittens posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2023 on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 65-38 victory over Northeast. The win made it back-to-back wins for Southern Lab.
Bryson Chapman was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Cameron Hardnett was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylon Guerin, who scored seven points along with three blocks and two steals. That's the first time this season that Guerin posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeromone Sampson, who scored three points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Southern Lab's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
Southern Lab will look to defend their home court on Thursday against White Castle at 6:00 p.m. White Castle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Southern Lab is ranked 87th). Northeast won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Helena College and Career Academy at 10:00 a.m. on January 6th.
