Basketball Recap: Vynsynt Vann's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hillsborough over King

Hillsborough is still winless after their game against King on Tuesday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They fell just short of the King Lions by a score of 52-50. The Terriers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Several Terriers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vynsynt Vann, who posted ten points and five boards. That's the most rebounds Vann has posted since back in November of 2023. Knowledge Bryant was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

King's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Malik Hammond led the charge by going 6 for 15 on his way to 13 points and eight steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nuri Hakim, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Hillsborough's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for King, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Hillsborough wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-39 loss against Bloomingdale on the 4th. As for King, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-35 defeat against East Bay on the 4th.
