Basketball Recap: Newton Falls Extends Winning Streak to Four

Newton Falls extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Landon McGregor. The Newton Falls Tigers breezed by the Southeast Pirates to the tune of 71-36 on Friday thanks in part to McGregor, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Caden Clonch, who posted eight points. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Newton Falls has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Southeast, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

Newton Falls has already played their next contest, a 45-35 defeat against LaBrae on the 21st. Southeast has also already played their next game (against Crestview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
