The North Pontotoc Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Potts Camp Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Pontotoc is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Last Friday, North Pontotoc was the victim of a rough 59-39 loss at the hands of South Pontotoc. While losing is never fun, North Pontotoc can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while South Pontotoc is ranked 54th).
Meanwhile, even though Houlka scored an imposing 69 points on Friday, Potts Camp still came out on top. Potts Camp strolled past Houlka with points to spare, taking the game 83-69. The win made it back-to-back wins for Potts Camp.
North Pontotoc's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Potts Camp, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Things could have been worse for North Pontotoc, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-51 loss to Potts Camp in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. Can North Pontotoc avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
