Waukesha West is 0-10 against Kettle Moraine since May of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Wolverines will square off against the Lasers at 5:00 p.m. Waukesha West's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Kettle Moraine's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Waukesha West gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Homestead with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lauren Walters was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Hisel, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ellie Cortichiato also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Waukesha West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Homestead only managed seven hits.
Meanwhile, Kettle Moraine waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Indians by a score of 7-3.
Like Waukesha West, Kettle Moraine also got a great game from a two-way player: Briella Hack. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Hack has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Hack wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Casey Navarro, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Sarah Marcheske was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Kettle Moraine's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Waukesha West, their record now sits at 6-4.
Waukesha West might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Kettle Moraine when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
