Basketball Recap: Grandview Extends Winning Streak to Three

Grandview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Overland Trailblazers by a score of 65-53. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the 72-49 victory the Trailblazers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grandview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Breven Anderson, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 15 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Trevor Thomas was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and seven boards.

Despite the loss, Overland had strong showings from Dontae Graham, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, and Demetrius Lambert, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points and five boards. The game was Graham's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tj Manuel, who posted five points.

Grandview's record now sits at 10-8. As for Overland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Grandview will face off against Smoky Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Grandview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests. As for Overland, they will take on Cherokee Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Overland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.3 points per game this season.
