Bishop McGuinness received a tough blow as they fell 58-26 to Pine Lake Prep. Bishop McGuinness has struggled against Pine Lake Prep recently, as Friday's match was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Gabe Bolivar had a dynamite game for Pine Lake Prep, rushing for 300 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. Bolivar was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Gower, who picked up 149 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Pine Lake Prep's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ryan Connotillo.
With that loss, Bishop McGuinness now have a losing record at 3-4. The victory was the fourth in a row for Pine Lake Prep, and brought their record for this year to 6-1.
Bishop McGuinness will head out on the road to face off against Mountain Island Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine Lake Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Carver at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carver is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
