The Lecanto Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 37 points or more this season. They blew past Saint Francis Catholic 72-30 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Lecanto as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Jt Tipton was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 5 assists. The game was his 12th in a row with at least ten points. Josh Patrick was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Despite the loss, Saint Francis Catholic still got an impressive performance from Jonah Powers, who scored nine points along with four steals. Powers hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Even though they lost, Saint Francis Catholic were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lecanto only racked up 23 assists.
Lecanto's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Saint Francis Catholic, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2.
Lecanto won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fort White at 12:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Saint Francis Catholic will finish 2023 at home by hosting Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eastside is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
