Volleyball Recap: Mullen Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mullen, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Cody-Kilgore Cowboys/Cowgirls by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Mullen was: they took both sets by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-8.

Their offense was headlined by Jenna Donohoe and Hayley Donohoe, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Kalli Licking and her 21 assists. Brynne McCully controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mullen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Cody-Kilgore, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-19.

Coincidentally, Mullen and Cody-Kilgore will both be playing Valentine the next time they take the court. The Cowboys/Cowgirls will host Valentine at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Broncos will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
