The Lanier Poets will be home for the holidays to greet the Brewbaker Tech Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Lanier was fully in charge, breezing past Southside 67-39 on the road. That 67-39 margin sets a new team best for Lanier this season.
Meanwhile, Brewbaker Tech escaped with a win on Friday against LAMP by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57.
Johnathan Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 20 rebounds. Those 30 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Tyler Dixon, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
Lanier's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Brewbaker Tech, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
