The Mascoutah Indians are taking a road trip to face off against the Civic Memorial Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mascoutah has four straight victories, Civic Memorial has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Mascoutah will bounce into Friday's game after beating Triad, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Indians came out on top against the Knights by a score of 16-7 on Friday. The 16-point effort marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
The critical scores for Mascoutah came from Camren Reed and Nygel Bowers.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Mascoutah proved: they limited Triad to a paltry two yards per carry. The team can thank Jordan Beck for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Mascoutah; they were averaging 5.9yards per carry per game earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 4.8 per game.
