Owen McMahan gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in April of 2024 on Monday. He was dynamite, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those 16 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

McMahan's effort led Sycamore over Cheatham County Central and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sycamore is a perfect 10-0 against Cheatham County Central going back to May of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
