They lost to Marissa/Coulterville on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin on Thursday. Sparta has struggled against Marissa/Coulterville recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Sparta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Maddie Schulein, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Schulein scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Pierce, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Sparta's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Marissa/Coulterville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
