The Greenfield Bruins's four-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 54-45 win over North Salinas. The win was just what Greenfield needed coming off of a 81-24 defeat in their prior contest.
Despite the defeat, North Salinas saw an underclassman step up: Andre Lizaola scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Lizaola scored a full 35.6% of North Salinas' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Mendez, who scored six points.
Greenfield's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10. As for North Salinas, they bumped their record down to 3-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Greenfield will face off against Rancho San Juan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Salinas, they will be playing at home against Pajaro Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
