While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, the Millennium Falcons were not quite the Elliot Christian Eagles's equal in the second half on Thursday. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Millennium was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Elliot Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Millennium lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andre Saldate. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Saldate continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Kala Bragg was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Millennium struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Elliot Christian racked up 11 assists.
Elliot Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elliot Burton, who scored 13 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Nielsen, who scored 17 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Millennium and nudges their season record down to 6-19. As for Elliot Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-17.
Millennium does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elliot Christian also has no future games currently scheduled.
