The Capital Prep Trailblazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Simsbury, falling 66-28.
Capital Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malique Marshall, who scored six points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marshall has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Oshoy Fray, who scored eight points.
Capital Prep struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Capital Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Simsbury, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Capital Prep's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Bristol Central at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th. Simsbury will finish 2023 at home by hosting Bristol Eastern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bristol Eastern knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Simsbury likes a good challenge.
